When I want to work with someone who has a service-based business, I visit their website to learn more about them and their services, browse their content, and read any social proof (aka testimonials). It increases my trust in their brand and their expertise which encourages me to take the next step and work with them!

Overall, having a website makes you and your business look legit and says to the world, “I take my health coaching business seriously and you should too.” Doing this establishes trust with your audience at the beginning of starting your wellness business and positions you as an expert in your specific niche.

As mentioned before, your website is your digital storefront. It’s something you own and have full control over. You can brand your website to attract your ideal clients. From the website copywriting to the color palette to the typography and visuals, you have the power to capture the attention of dream clients when they land on your website.

This, over time, creates a strong brand identity and helps website visitors connect with your mission and vision. You want your ideal clients to become familiar with your brand, and recognize your brand when they see the logo, color palette, typography, visuals, and your brand voice from your copywriting, blog posts, emails, etc.

When your ideal client searches on Google, “How to lose weight in your 30s without dieting(or whatever specific question your ideal client would search for in your niche), you want your website to rank highly in the search engine so your business can be found.

How is this possible? Through the power of keyword research and a keyword strategy for your niche and ideal client (among other things).

You can add these keywords throughout your website, from your website copywriting to the images to the blog posts, etc. SEO is a long-term strategy that can take 6 to 12 months to see results. If you’re just beginning your health coaching business, you can find many wonderful free resources online (from articles to videos to podcasts).

If you’re in the growth stage of your business you can always hire a reputable SEO specialist, or agency, to put together a comprehensive SEO strategy for your website. Some website designers offer basic SEO within their website packages, at no additional cost to you, which is a huge plus.

An additional bonus is that these resources will increase your credibility, and your ideal client will view you as the go-to expert because the knowledge you share showcases your expertise. So, when your ideal client is in the decision stage of their buyer’s journey, ready to hire a health coach, you’ll be the first person they’ll think of and want to work with!

7. Growing networking opportunities

As you build relationships with other professionals or businesses in the health and wellness industry, having a website allows for cross-promotion and collaboration, increasing your exposure and potential client reach. For example, a reputable wellness professional with a thriving blog could link one of your blog posts to one of their articles.

This, over time, can increase your credibility, boost your rank and authority with Google, and boost your website traffic. Also, by having a website, you’ll look professional and credible when you’re networking, online or in person, with other health leaders in the wellness space.
