5 Essential Website Branding Tips for Health Coaches

In the fast-paced online wellness space, your health coach website is the gateway to capturing the attention and trust of your ideal clients and audience. Join me as I reveal 5 key strategies and practical tips that will make a huge difference in amplifying your brand’s website presence.

1. Create a brand moodboard

What do you want your brand vibe/brand mood to be? Bright and bubbly? Grounded and balanced? Vibrant and energizing? There are so many possibilities.

To get some fresh inspiration, browse Pinterest and stock photo websites, such as Pexels and Unsplash, to pick photos that match your brand vibe and add them to a blank Canva canvas. Your brand moodboard will include inspiration images, typography, color palette, logos, and any other elements that illustrate your brand.

2. Choose your typography

Keep it minimal to 3-4 fonts and ensure it matches your brand vibe and aesthetic. Pinterest is a great tool to view a range of fonts. These fonts can include:

  • Header font
  • Subheader font
  • Paragraph font
  • Script font (This is optional, however, if it aligns with your branding go for it! Since this is an accent font it should be used sparingly.)

After choosing your fonts, it’s important to purchase the correct font licensing so it can be properly used for your website, socials, etc.

3. Create a color palette

Based on your brand moodboard, choose up to 5 cohesive colors that don’t clash. Canva’s color picker is a wonderful tool to use based on the photos you chose for your brand moodboard.

4. Create a simple logo

Hiring a brand designer to create a logo is the best choice, however, if you decide to choose the DIY route, there are free tools, such as Canva, to create a super simple logo. Browse Pinterest for logo inspiration, but never copy. Add your own creative style and unique brand aesthetic to your logo, and keep it simple. A wordmark logo will be more than enough to get started!

5. Have a professional photography shoot

High-quality visuals really uplevel your brand and website. They create a brand story and make your branded website more compelling and memorable. Blurry, low-quality, pixelated photos don’t look as professional or provide a great user experience – which can cause website visitors to immediately leave your website.

Start by creating a photography moodboard. Add inspiration photos, poses, props, scenery, and anything else that could be beneficial to creating your dream brand photography shoot. Pinterest and stock image sites can be a great tool for this. Use what you have. I recommend 3 items. A camera (an iPhone or a DSLR), a tripod, and a clicker that will automatically capture photos so you don’t have to manually adjust each time.

Ultimately, when it comes to branding as a health coach, it’s best to keep things simple to make the process easy for yourself. Most importantly, have fun and enjoy the process!
